Book Launch: The Edited Volume “Women’s Stories of Leadership in Ukraine

On October 23, 2025, in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Women’s Congress featured an official launch of the edited volume “Women’s Stories of Leadership in Ukraine: Late 19th – Early 20th Century,” edited by Oksana Kis (Kyiv: Stepurina Publishing, 2025, 336 pp.).
The book is the result of a joint research and educational project of the Ukrainian Women’s Congress and the Ukrainian Association for Research in Women’s History (2021–2024). The publication was made possible with the financial support of the Heinrich Böll Foundation Ukraine.
At the event, the book was presented by the project’s patron Svitlana Voitsekhovska, Chair of the UWC and Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; co-author of the volume Olha Nikolaienko, Doctor of Historical Sciences (habilitation equivalent), Skovoroda National Pedagogical University of Kharkiv; and the academic editor of the volume Oksana Kis (joining remotely).

The event was also attended by co-authors of the volume Iryna Savchenko, Iryna Levchuk, and Pavlo Leno.
