Candidate of Historical Sciences (PhD equivalent), Associate Professor, ethnologist, podcaster, and author who writes extensively on women’s history in Ukrainian traditional culture for both academic and popular audiences. From 2005 to 2022, she worked as an assistant lecturer and subsequently Associate Professor at Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She has received an award from the National Union of Local History Researchers of Ukraine for her scholarly contribution to the study of Ukrainian culture. She has completed research fellowships at European universities in Linköping (Sweden), Tübingen (Germany), and Copenhagen (Denmark).
Her book “The Female Body in the Traditional Culture of Ukrainians” became a bestseller, while “Body. Sex. Marriage. A History of Intimate Relations in Ukrainian Traditions” (Kyiv: Vikhola, 2023) was among the top sellers at the 11th International Book Arsenal Festival in the non-fiction category. Her podcast “How We Made Love” won the Ukrainian audio award “Slushno” for best original podcast of 2021.
She has extensive experience in national and international conferences, public lectures, cultural events, and media engagement. As a public speaker, she has lectured and presented her work across Ukraine as well as in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, China, the USA, Poland, and Lithuania.
