Doctor of Philological Sciences (habilitation equivalent), Leading Research Fellow at the Shevchenko Institute of Literature, NAS of Ukraine.
Research interests: history of the Ukrainian women’s movement, gender issues, anthropology, women’s writing, intellectual biographies of prominent women (prosopographical perspective), literary studies, cultural studies; publication of the unknown literary heritage of women writers and civic leaders.
Graduated with honors from the Faculty of Philology, Franko University of Lviv. In 2002, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences (PhD equivalent) on the topic: “The Crime Plot and Problems of Literary Psychologism in the Works of Ivan Franko.” In 2018, she defended her doctoral dissertation based on the monograph “A Woman with Ariadne’s Gift : The Life Path of Nataliia Kobrynska in Generational, World View and Creative Dimensions” (Lviv, 2018).
Author of two single-authored monographs, chapters in edited volumes, and approximately 150 scholarly publications, including works on women’s history and women’s writing.
Author of two lecture courses: “Woman and the Spirit of the Age” (supported by the United Nations Women’s Fund for Peace and Humanitarian Aid) and “Women Creators of Cultural Change: Women’s Writing and the Civic Activism of Ukrainian Women of the Past.”
Lecturer at the UCU Center for Women’s Studies of the Ukrainian Catholic University, and a lecturer in the project “HerTalks: Women Creators of Ukrainian Reality” (supported by the Heinrich Böll Foundation) — in total, she delivered 19 lectures within the project.
Coordinator and moderator of the inter-institutional project between the UCU Center for Women’s Studies and the Shevchenko Institute of Literature, NAS of Ukraine, “Destiny in the Word: Studies in the History of Ukrainian Women’s Emigration.”
Scholarly consultant and co-author of the podcast “Founding Mothers.”
Organizer of a number of scholarly conferences devoted to phenomena and figures in women’s history: the 130th anniversary of the almanac “The First Wreath” (2021), the 160th anniversary of Nataliia Kobrynska (2015), the 150th anniversary of Kostiantyna Malytska (2020), the 190th anniversary of Hanna Barvinok, the 140th anniversary of Olha Duchyminska, and the 170th anniversary of Nataliia Kobrynska (2025).
Laureate of the national “Book of the Year” award in the category “Reader. Literary Studies and Criticism” (2018) for the scholarly monograph “A Woman with Ariadne’s Gift : The Life Path of Nataliia Kobrynska in Generational, World View and Creative Dimensions”.
Also laureate of the Lviv Regional Prize in Culture, Literature, Art, Journalism, and Architecture in the category “Literary Studies, Contemporary Literary Criticism, and Translation,” named after Mykhailo Vozniak (2019); winner of the competition for the best book publication of the NAS of Ukraine in the category “Monographs: Social Sciences and Humanities” (2019); and laureate of the national library “Biographical Rating 2018” in the category “Biography” (2019).
